NYX Makeup Haul

I absolutely love finding new makeup, especially affordable, great quality makeup! When I saw there was a NYX Professional store at the Westfield Sherman Oaks I was excited to try out some new products. It may sound odd, but there is just something about the presentation at the NYX stand-alone store that makes it feel more luxurious and high end. It's a huge step up from buying NYX at Ulta or CVS without a flux in the price.

Gotcha Covered Concealer - Shade: Light                                                                                                              I have recently been wearing this It Cosmetics 'Bye Bye Undereye' Concealer. I love how thick it is and how long it lasts! But, with its' $24 a tube price tag I wasn't sure how long I could keep up with it. I am definitely a makeup wearer, not a person who uses a tiny dot for my whole face, if you know what I mean. With that said, I am ECSTATIC to say that from what I can tell so far, this NYX 'Gotcha Covered' Concealer is basically the exact same formula! It's thick and has amazing coverage - it's also waterproof! And let's face it I can literally by four tubes of the NYX concealer for the price of one It Cosmetics tube. I must say, this is by far my favorite product from this haul.

Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder - Shade: Nude                                                                                                 I'm always on the hunt for the next great powder to lock in my look for the day. I've used both high end and drug store brands alike throughout my quest! While browsing the store I decided to give this 'Stay Matte But Not Flat' Powder a try. I have to say, I've really been enjoying it so far! It's not too chalky like some powders can be and I haven't noticed any residue from it. I also haven't found myself re-applying throughout the day which is awesome!

Butter Lipstick - Shade: Root Beer Float                                                                                                                 I am a sucker for a great mauve/Fall-like shade of lipstick. Truth be told, it's my go-to color all year round. I love trying different brands and variations - I absolutely love the Tarte Lippie Lingerie in the shade "Whisper". While I can't see this Butter Lipstick in "Root Beer Float" replacing it entirely, I do love that it's only $6 opposed to $24 for everyday wear. Again, I could literally by four of these in different colors (I promise I'll step outside of my comfort zone one day!) for the price of one. My favorite thing to do is apply this first all over my lips and then go over it with the Slim Lip Pencil I'm about to tell you about. Bonus: It doesn't dry out your lips like most lipsticks do!

Slim Lip Pencil - Shade: Mauve                                                                                                                                 I went through a stage of just using lip liner as lipstick (I love the control you get with lip liners and how you can easily make your lips appear larger than they are by overdrawing them ever so slightly). Like I said before, I love applying the Butter Lipstick first and then going over it with this Slim Lip Pencil in the shade "Mauve". It provides extra pigmentation that helps the color last longer! I also love the clean lines it provides around the edges of my lip color. This shade is gorgeous for Fall and I adore how easily this glides on. I will definitely purchase this again - come on, $3.50!?

Tinted Brow Mascara - Shade: Chocolate                                                                                                               I have tried the fancy Anastasia Brow Definer and to be honest I am not impressed. I found it really hard to apply - it was extremely waxy and mine actually broke off very soon after I bought it. I'm fairly new to the "brow game" and am not well versed in filling in my brows. This Tinted Brow Mascara is perfect for me! It fills in any small gaps while acting as a hair spray of sorts for my eyebrows keeping them together so I don't look like Jim Carrey in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' (google it!). I will definitely keep buying this!

Overall, I am really impressed with the NYX products this time around. I can't wait to go back for more! I have my eye on these at the moment! Colored Felt Tip Liner, Baked Blush, Velvet Matte Lipstick. I just might need to make another trip back next week!

Halo Top Ice Cream Haul

Halo Top Haul Halo Top Haul-2

It's probably so weird to do a "haul" on a food item, but I recently discovered this healthy ice cream called Halo Top through a random ad on my Facebook! (it must know of my addiction!) So, like any good ice cream lover would, I decided to go on a quest to try all of the flavors! Sadly, I am missing two (Strawberry & Chocolate Mocha Chip) that I couldn't find even after going to several stores near me.

Right off the bat, I love their branding and packaging. It's modern with retro elements which is always a favorite of mine! Also, you can't beat a gold lid, can you!? Now, for the real reason I was originally drawn to this - it's low in calories and sugar, but high in protein! An entire pint of one of these is 240-280 calories! That is insane! That means, if I want to sit there and eat an entire pint while watching Game of Thrones - "Battle of the Bastards" again, I can! Craziness.

I must say that for healthy ice cream, these are actually pretty good! Especially compared to some of their competitors (I'm looking at you, Arctic Zero!) I, of course, have my favorites so let's take a closer look at each flavor now!

Halo Top Haul-4

Mint chip is definitely at the top of my list! It tastes pretty darn close to the real thing! Don't be fooled by it's adorable mint colored carton, this ice cream is actually cream colored with teeny-tiny pieces of chocolate. Super yummy on it's own but would be great with some crushed Thin Mints! (Just a few....)

Halo Top Haul-7

Birthday Cake is my husband's favorite! I do agree that it is one of the best. It tastes a lot like Funfetti or cake batter ice cream if you've ever had that from Cold Stone. I love the little sprinkles that are mixed in!

Halo Top Haul 1

You can't go wrong with Chocolate! I love putting some Oreo Thins with this (yes, we brought them back into the house after a short hiatus!) It's also really good by itself!

Halo Top Haul 1-2

This flavor isn't the most intense, I mean, it's Vanilla, so that's to be expected. This is a good one to have on hand if you feel like making yourself a diet root beer float or if you want to make an actual sundae with hot fudge. It definitely needs a little help on the flavor game, but it's not a lost cause.

Halo Top Haul-6

I must admit that this is the flavor that I'm most disappointed about. You can barely taste the lemon, which is sad, especially for summer! It's so faint that this actually ends up tasting kind of weird. I wouldn't buy this flavor again.

Halo Top Haul-8

Overall, I definitely enjoyed these and would buy some of them again! Halo Top isn't sold everywhere yet, so be sure to check here before heading to your local store! I'm still going to be on the lookout for the two missing flavors - I have high hopes for the Strawberry one!

Tobi Style Haul

I always love discovering new clothing sites with affordable, trendy clothes so when I discovered Tobi I was thrilled! They have so many unique pieces - I love all of their edgy tops and dresses. Here are some things I recently ordered that I'm loving! The best news is that all new customers get 50% off their first order! As if you needed another reason to check them out... I absolutely adore this leopard midi skirt and can't wait to wear it all summer long! It will be so cute with my favorite pair of black Birkenstocks. This burgundy cropped sweater is to die for - perfect for 90's vibes or a chic street wear look. It's also so comfortable and easy to wear!

I paired the same leopard skirt with this ribbed crop top! It's going to look great with my leather pleated midi skirt and a jean jacket. Can you tell I have a thing for midi skirts? This top is so versatile - a modern classic with a little edge.

Ya'll...if you haven't seen the designlovefest for Cheeky line at Target, you are in for a treat! I have long been a fan of Bri Emery of designlovefest, her taste and style are the perfect blend of modern and whimsical elements. I was thrilled when I find out that she, like other awesome blogger/companies I enjoy (Sugar Paper & Oh Joy!) was doing a collaboration with the best store ever TARGET. I had to stock up and may or may not have enough paper plates to last me for the next six months...guilty! Let's start with my favorite piece of this collection - the amazing travel coffee cup set! Look at that color blocked/dotted cup people! The "Yay!" sleeve takes this one to the next level and I love the combination of black & white with mint and light pink. It's just too cute for words. It's almost too cute to use, almost....

There is an awesome selection of plates in this line as well. I bought four different patterns to mix and match! This first photo is to show the difference in sizes. The black confetti dots and dark pink larger dots are the same size (10") and the light pink larger dots and mint mixed pattern are the same size (9"), too! If you want to host a pizza party, but you'd rather not use boring, old paper plates, you need these! If you want to smile every time you don't have to wash dishes after dinner, you need these! If you love all things modern, whimsical, and amazing, you need these! (Okay, okay, I'll stop...but really!)

While I would have loved to have purchased every single piece in this collection, I had to limit myself. I mean, how many paper plates does a household of two actually need? Check these out in the paper/napkin section of Target next time you're there and grab them while you can! Everything in this collection is reasonably priced at $3.99 - what a steal! Especially for those coffee cups...I'm just obsessed!

Until next time, friends!

Sugar Paper Los Angeles for Target - Christmas Haul

If you have never heard of Sugar Paper, you are missing out! They have the cutest, modern paper goods! They have been teaming up with Target to create affordable, chic planners and calendars for the last few years. This holiday season, they also came out with a whole collection of Christmas items! I was SO thrilled to see this at my local Target and decided that I must Sugar Paper theme my gifts for this year! They have some other color options available, but I decided to go with a Red, Mint, Gold, Black, and White scheme. I am a sucker for anything gold foiled and these products do not disappoint in that department. Here are the fun things I bought! SugarPaper-5

The awesome thing about these three adorable bags is that while they are great for the holiday season, you can also use them year round for birthday gifts, baby showers, etc. I love the modern look of them -- totally beats Santa Claus printed paper in my book! (Sorry, Santa!)

I love the simplicity of this pretty white and gold bag. The material it is made out of feels very high quality, and at only $3.00 per bag, you really can't beat that!

So many fun prints available in this wrapping paper collection! Like the three small bags I shared above, the gold stripe and mint & gold dot papers can be used any time of the year! I love the sweet little mittens on the white paper. They are minimal, but make a statement, and I have never seen anything quite like them. I also loved the pop of red this cute "Merry Christmas" paper tied into the look. I like that it added that tasteful, yet classic Christmas feel.

These gold trimmed white boxes are so cute, I might just keep them for myself to put keepsakes in. They are sturdy and easily stackable, perfect to just tie a pretty bow onto and call it a day.

So long to losing labels year after year and having to buy new ones every Christmas. I love that this is a label dispenser in the style of a tape dispenser. The labels stay neatly inside until you are ready to use them so they are always protected. This is another great product in this line because it is not holiday specific!

I will have to get a pretty gold pen to write in my best wannabe-calligrapher's handwriting on these little tags! These will be great for presents with bows or ribbon! I also had to get these adorable gift toppers that look like tiny ornaments. I will probably use these for a holiday girls' night idea that I am stirring up!

Overall, I am super impressed with everything this collection has to offer! I hope they decide to do this year after year. If you love luxe paper goods, but don't want to break the bank wrapping presents this year...run, don't walk to your nearest Target now! Or you can see what they still have available online here.
